Another announcement ASUS made alongside its laptop launches is regarding Liquid Metal. That’s right, the entire 2020 ROG gaming laptop lineup with 10th generation Intel Core processors will come with Liquid Metal technology.
What is Liquid Metal?
Liquid Metal is a thermal compound made by Thermal Grizzly, which they are calling it Conductonaut. Thought to be cooling thermal compound for high-end machines, Asus gamers will now get to have Liquid Metal in their laptops automatically.
Asus claims that during their testing, they have seen a 10 to 20-degree celsius reduction in temperatures depending on the CPU tested.
What’s interesting is that Asus chose to use Thermal Grizzly’s Conductonaut for its laptops, so they made initial purchases casually to keep the project a secret. Not even Intel was briefed about plans during development.
Now, ASUS ROG’s 2020 laptop lineup isn’t the first to implement Liquid Metal. The Asus ROG Mothership which was launched last year already used Liquid Metal as part of its cooling solution. It was so successful that Asus decided to bring it to its newer laptop lineups.
