Apple M1 chip Graphics Performance Outperforms AMD And Nvidia graphics in new benchmarks

Apple M1 Chip

The Apple M1 chipset has shown that it performs much better than all other Intel-based Macs, and now in these new gaming benchmarks, it seems the M1 chip has much better graphics performance too.

These new tests have revealed that the Apple M1 chip can outperform the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and AMD Radeon RX560 easily in graphics benchmarks. This could be a sign showing that gaming on a Mac will fare better moving forward.

Gaming on an Intel-based Mac isn’t the best or most immersive experience, and even those who have dedicated graphics card lean more towards doing creative stuff like video and photo editing, instead of gaming. However, with the Apple M1 chip, it seems you can now game during your downtime, as the chip is now giving dedicated graphics card a run for their money.

Tom’s Hardware spotted some graphics tests that reveal the Apple M1 chip can beat a few midrange GPUs from both AMD and Nvidia, which include the GTX 1050 Ti and the RX 560. In GFXBench 5.0, the Apple M1 chip pushes significantly more frames per second (FPS), maxing out at 130.9 fps in a 1440p test, where the GTX 1050 Ti takes second place at 27.4 fps.

The Apple M1 can deliver up to 2.6 teraflops of throughput, which isn’t too far off from the GTX 1650’s max teraflops of 2.9. That makes it compete closer to the GTX 1650 than the GTX 1050 Ti. These graphic cards may be older, but not long ago, they were really good GPUs, and it’s a feat that Apple has managed to build an all-in-one chip that can outperform them.

Do note that benchmark results don’t necessarily reflect real-world graphics performance. These tests were also performed using a tool that’s designed for smartphones. The iPhone and iPad has been running on custom ARM chipsets, and they’ve been delivering great graphics performance in games like Fornite and Call of Duty.

If you’ve been wanting to get a Mac, the Apple M1 chip might just be right one for you.
