The Apple HomePod Mini is the company’s latest IoT smart speaker that takes on the Google Home Mini. It brings the power of Siri, with great audio, and amazing features that are built for the smart home.
Apple HomePod Mini
The new Apple HomePod Mini runs on the new Apple S5 processor, with Computational Audio that is designed to provide great audio. Just like some other smart speakers in the market, the HomePod Mini can also wirelessly sync with multiple other HomePod Minis at home, so that audio can sync up. Music can be played harmoniously with no audio delay.
The HomePod Mini will also be able to stream music and podcasts from multiple apps like Spotify, Pandora, and more.
For those who are into setting up a smart home, the HomePod Mini supports smart home integration with the Apple Home app. Using a single voice note, users can set “scenes” to control multiple accessories. Just say “good morning”, and the lights will turn on, the vacuum cleaner could start, curtains will open up, and more. Also, the new “Discover” tab will also let you find Apple compatible smart home hardware, so you don’t have to worry about compatibility anymore.
Apple also introduced a new feature called Intercomm. The feature allows you to quickly send short voice messages to multiple Apple devices like the iPhone, iPad, CarPlay, and of course, other HomePod Minis too. The voice message can also be sent to AirPods too, so no one gets left behind.
Pricing And Availability
The Apple HomePod Mini is priced at $99 (approx. RM406), and it will be available for pre-order starting 6th November, with shipments starting delivery from 16th October 2020 onwards.
