Apple has officially announced the 2020 iPhone SE, which is a lower-cost iPhone that starts from RM1,999 for the 64GB storage variant. It’s basically an iPhone 8 because it has the same shape and look.

Not to be confused with the previous iPhone SE, Apple didn’t even bother giving it a new name. The 2020 iPhone SE has a 4.7-inch Retina HD display with large bezels on the top and bottom. The home button also has Touch ID built in. Powered by the A13 Bionic Chip, which is the same as the one found in the iPhone 11 series, it makes it as powerful as Apple’s latest flagship smartphone.
On the front, you will find a 7MP f/2.2 selfie sensor, while the back has a single 12MP f/1.8 main camera with LED flash. The rear camera is capable of 4K videos and Apple’s portrait mode.
The 2020 iPhone SE will have roughly the same battery life of the iPhone 8, and it is also IP67 rated for dust and water resistance. It’s capable of handling a nano SIM and eSIM.
Pricing and Availability
The 2020 iPhone SE will have a starting price of RM1,999 and will come in three simple colours – Black, White, and Product RED. It isn’t announced when it will be available in Malaysia, but our neighbouring country Singapore will have pre-orders open as soon as the 17th of April. We’ll definitely keep you posted when it arrives on Malaysian shores.
Of course, each purchase of an iPhone will come with a one-year free subscription to Apple TV, and the 2020 iPhone SE isn’t excluded.
