AMD Launches Ryzen 4000 G-Series Desktop CPUs

AMD Launches Ryzen 4000 G-Series Desktop CPUs 7

AMD has recently announced new additions to its Ryzen CPU lineup. This time round, the company is introducing six Ryzen 4000 G-series desktop processors: Ryzen 7 4700G, Ryzen 5 4600G, Ryzen 3 4300G, Ryzen 7 4700GE, Ryzen 5 4600GE and Ryzen 3 4300GE.

AMD’s New Ryzen 4000 G-Series Desktop CPUs

As many of you may have already known, AMD’s G-series processors are those that are equipped with Radeon integrated graphics chips. Meanwhile, the GE-series CPUs are mostly catered for more ‘casual’ usage. Interestingly, based on AMD’s press slides, its new Ryzen 4000 G-series CPUs are made for “pre-built OEM systems.” There’s no word on whether or not these processors will be made available for purchase separately—although, we do expect the company to make them available individually in the near future.

Ryzen 7 4700G & Ryzen 7 4700GE

Ryzen 4000 G-Series

First up on the list are the company’s most powerful offerings in its new Ryzen 4000 G-series: the Ryzen 7 4700G and Ryzen 7 4700GE. Specifications-wise, both processors come with 8 CPU cores and 16 threads; along with turbo frequency speeds of 4.4GHz and 4.3GHz respectively. In addition, both CPUs are equipped with a Radeon iGPU which has 8 graphics cores.

Major differences between the Ryzen 7 4700G and Ryzen 7 4700GE are their respective base CPU clock speeds, which are rated at 3.6GHz and 3.1GHz respectively. Moreover, the Ryzen 7 4700G has a TDP rating of 65W, while its ‘low-powered’ counterpart, naturally, has a significantly lower TDP rating of 35W. Lastly, the iGPU on both processors also have slightly different clock speeds: 2.1GHz (4700G) and 2GHz (4700GE).

Ryzen 5 4600G & Ryzen 5 4600GE

AMD’s mid-range Ryzen 4000 G-series lineup include: the Ryzen 5 4600G and Ryzen 5 4600GE. The processors feature 6 CPU cores and 12 threads; together with turbo clock speeds of 4.2GHz each. Additionally, each aforementioned processors also come with a Radeon iGPU with 7 graphics cores (both clocked at 1.9GHz).

Major differences between the Ryzen 5 4600G and Ryzen 5 4600GE are their respective base CPU frequency speeds, which are rated at 3.7GHz and 3.3GHz respectively. In addition, the TDP rating on both processors are rated at 65W (4600G) and 35W (4600GE).

Ryzen 3 4300G & Ryzen 3 4300GE

The most ‘affordable’ offering on AMD’s Ryzen 4000 G-series lineup are the Ryzen 3 4300G and Ryzen 3 4300GE. When it comes to specifications, both CPUs come with 4 CPU cores and 8 threads; whilst also featuring turbo frequency speeds of 4GHz each. Similar to its more ‘powerful’ siblings, both the Ryzen 3 4300G and Ryzen 3 4300GE are also equipped with a Radeon iGPU, which has 6 graphics cores (GPU frequency of 1.7GHz each).

Notable difference between the aforementioned processors can be found in their respective base CPU frequency speeds: 3.8GHz (4300G) and 3.5GHz (4300GE). Moreover, both the Ryzen 3 4300G and Ryzen 3 4300GE have TDP ratings of 65W and 35W respectively.

Pricing & Availability

Ryzen 4000 G-Series

As mentioned earlier, aside from announcing six of its new Ryzen 4000 G-series processors, AMD made no mention regarding the aforementioned CPUs’ local pricing and availability. It’s also not certain if and when AMD intendeds to make these processors available as a separate purchase to consumers. We’ll be sure to keep you posted regarding these details as soon as AMD provide more information in the coming weeks.
