Acer Swift 5

Acer

The Acer Swift 5 is powered by an up to 11th gen Intel Core i7 CPU, paired with 512GB of PCIe NVMe SSD, as well as 16GB of LPDDR4X onboard RAM. Graphics wise, it’s rocking Intel’s new Iris Xe Graphics, which Intel mentioned can handle video and graphics anywhere. For its screen, it is equipped with a 14-inch FHD IPS panel with touchscreen support, and it does have a narrow bezel. Colour accuracy wise, the display panel does cover 100% of the sRGB colour gamut. The display is also coated with an Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass.

Verified as an Intel Evo platform laptop, what this means is that it meets hardware specifications set by Intel so that it could deliver key experience features like Instant Wake, all-day real world battery life, as well as fast charging. Acer claims that the Swift 5 can run up to 15 hours on a single charge, and a 30-minute charge can give you 4 hours of video playback time.

Measuring only 14.95mm thin and weighing 1.05KG, the Swift 5 is made with magnesium-lithium and magnesium-aluminium for its chassis. Connectivity wise, it has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, ThunderBolt 4 support, and Acer’s own Bio-Protection fingerprint sensor.

For its display, it has a 14-inch FHD IPS panel and unlike the Swift 5, it doesn’t have touchscreen support.

The Swift 3 measures at 15.95mm thin and weighs 200g more than the Swift 5, at 1.2KG. But that’s still pretty lightweight. Connectivity wise, it does support Intel’sWi-Fi 6 (Gig+). For its battery, it can up to 11 hours on a single charge, and it supports fast charging. Just like the Swift 5, it can offer 4 hours of additional video playback with just a 30-minute charge.

The laptop also meets the MIL-STD-810G standard, which means it’s gone through rigorous testing for a spill-resistant keyboard, as well as shock absorbent corners. No more worries about those accidental drops or bumps.

Security wise, the TravelMate P2 does support Trusted Platform (TPM) 2.0 HDD-level protection, has a fingerprint sensor and webcam that’s compatible and compliant with Windows Hello.
