Announced back in CES 2020, the Acer Spin 3 finally makes its way to Malaysia. Not only that, Acer also brought in the TravelMate P614 which is made for the professional on-the-go.
Acer Spin 3 Convertible PC
Featuring a slimmer design, powered by Intel’s 10th generation processors, the Acer Spin 3 lets you work any way you want with its durable 360-degree hinges. Weighing only 1.5KG and measuring 16.9mm thin, the Spin 3 is made with an aluminium chassis. It features a 14-inch touchscreen Full HD display, that has 7.82mm thin bezels to deliver a 78% screen-to-body ratio.
Doesn’t matter if you’re writing or drawing, the Acer Spin 3 is equipped with a fast-charging Acer Active Styles that utilises Wacom’s AES (active electrostatic) technology. When the stylus isn’t in use, just dock it away in the storage dock for it to quick-charge. For a 15-second charge, it can give you up to 90-minutes of active writing.
Acer TravelMate P614
The new TravelMate P614 is developed as part of Intel’s “Project Athena”, where it is capable of delivering responsiveness, instant wake abilities, and exceptional battery life. We’re talking 20 hours of battery life, that should get you through the entire day, and maybe the next morning too. It also supports a fast charge function, where you can get 50% of charge in just 45 minutes.
For a laptop that’s meant to be brought on-the-go, the TravelMate P614 has gone through MIL-STD-810G and 810F military durability tests to ensure it can withstand the knocks of daily life. Made with a magnesium-aluminium alloy chassis, the laptop measures 16.6mm thin, and weighs only 1.1KG. Powered with 10th generation Intel Core processors, the TravelMate P614 comes coupled 8GB of DDR4 RAM, optional Nvidia GeForce MX250 graphics, and up to 1TB Gen 3 x4 PCIe NVMe SSD. Connectivity wise, it has Wi-Fi 6 (GIG+) built right in, as well as Thunderbolt 3 technology for faster data transfers and monitor connectivity of up to 8K displays.
Security is Acer’s main concern for the professional, that’s why the TravelMate P614 uses Windows Hello via the fingerprint reader embedded in the power button. The IR webcam also enables face recognition because it utilizes biometric facial recognition. When the webcam isn’t in use, users can choose to close the built-in camera shutter. In addition, the TravelMate P614 also has an integrated Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 for hardware-based password and encryption key protection. Acer also pre-loaded ProShield, which is a suite of security and management tools that help keep your data safe.
