Samsung's Galaxy A90 5G Brings 5G to the Mid-Range Market 5

Most smartphone manufacturers implement the 5G technology for their flagship devices – OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G, Mi Mix 3 5G, and the list goes on (It’s not very long, considering there aren’t many 5G devices as of yet. However, Samsung’s latest 5G phone is the Galaxy A90 5G, which is a mid-range device from the Galaxy A lineup, which is slightly lower than the company’s Galaxy S series.

To compete with the Chinese manufacturers, Samsung included some of the higher end features in their mid-range Galaxy A lineup, like the quad-camera systems and flip-up camera mechanisms. That being said, the Galaxy A90 still feels like a familiar high-end flagship device, just without the Samsung DeX and 5G support.

Powering the Samsung Galaxy A90 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor, 6 or 8GB of RAM, as well as 128GB of internal storage. The device features a large 6.7-inch 1080p OLED display with a small “Infinity-U” notch and even has an in-screen fingerprint sensor. There’s a huge 4,500mAh battery powering the device and it charges up to 25W.

In the camera department, on the back you’ll find a triple camera system. The main sensor is a 48MP sensor (most likely Samsung’s own), an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, as well as a 5MP sensor for depth information. On the front, you’ll get a 32MP selfie camera.

Of course, there’s also 5G connectivity that sets it apart from other smartphones in the market. With its hardware specs, it’s competing with rivals like the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro (known as K20 Pro in China). Samsung will only be launching the device in South Korea tomorrow, so no price or availability information for foreign markets have been announced as of yet.
