At the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit, OPPO has announced that it will be one of the first companies to launch their flagship 5G smartphone that is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 mobile platform. The company’s next flagship smartphone will make its official debut in the first quarter of 2020.
Apart from that, the Chinese company also confirmed the existence of the Reno3 Pro, which will be announced later this month. The OPPO Reno3 Pro will pack the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor that is built on the 7nm process technology with integrated 5G. The OPPO Reno3 Pro would make for the brand’s first dual-mode 5G smartphone.
“By powering our devices with Snapdragon 865 mobile platforms, we are bringing premium flagship 5G smartphones with better experiences like camera, gaming and artificial intelligence with enhanced performance for consumers around the world. The Reno3 Pro, featuring the Snapdragon 765G, will allow users to experience the superior 5G connectivity, Qualcomm® Snapdragon Elite Gaming™, and outstanding performance in its ultra-thin form factor. OPPO plans to roll out more 5G products in the future, driving the large-scale adoption of 5G around the world,” Alen Wu, OPPO Vice President and President of Global Sales
OPPO has had a long working relationship with Qualcomm Technologies. From 2018’s OPPO Find X that utilises the Snapdragon 845 chipset, to 2019’s very own OPPO Reno 10 that was powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset and OPPO Reno Ace, which runs on the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset.
With the introduction of the new Snapdragon 765 and 865 processors from Qualcomm, we look forward to seeing what other devices OPPO has in store for its customers. For more information on the OPPO Reno3 Pro, stay tuned to The AXO for when more information is released.
