After all the teasers, Oppo finally debuts the Oppo Reno 2 in Malaysia. Attending the launch event were also Oppo Ambassadors – local Malaysian actress, Neelofa, and Taiwanese musician and singer, Jam Hsiao.
Oppo Reno 2
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730G, the Oppo Reno 2 features a large 6.5-inch Full HD AMOLED screen with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The front screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 while the rear has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, the Reno 2 performs fast and smooth for a mid-range device.
Boasting on its photography capabilities, the Reno 2 has a quad camera setup consisting of:
- 48MP (IMX586 sensor + OIS + EIS)
- 13MP Telelphoto Lens
- 8MP Wide Angle Lens
- 2MP Mono Lens
These lenses work together to achieve 5x Hybrid Zoom with 20x digital zoom. It also has new features like Ultra Dark Mode for capturing better lowlight photos, as well as Ultra Steady Video mode that puts the OIS and EIS systems to good use to produce stable and crisp videos. The front camera has a 16MP sensor with soft front light and AI Beauty Mode. Last but not least, powering the device is a 4,000mAh battery.
Oppo Reno 2F
Apart from the Reno 2, Oppo also subtly launched the Oppo Reno 2F, which is a slightly less beefy version of the Reno 2. How it differs from its bigger brother is that it’s powered by a MediaTek Helio P70 instead of a Snapdragon 730G. It also has a quad camera system, but consists of a 48MP sensor with EIS but without OIS, 8MP wide angle sensor, 2MP mono lens, and a 2MP portrait lens. It also swaps out the shark fin pop-up camera for a vertically raised camera structure. Other than that, it has pretty much the same specifications as the Reno 2.
Oppo Enco Q1
Finally, Oppo also announced the Enco Q1 – a bluetooth headphone with active noise cancellation. It offers 3 different modes for different scenarios:
- Music Mode
- Cinema Mode
- Game Mode
The Oppo Enco Q1 utilises a USB Type-C connection for charging instead of the conventional micro USB port. Oppo claims the Enco Q1’s 160mAh battery will be able to last 15 hours with active noise cancellation (ANC) on, and 22 hours with ANC off. Weighing in at only 42g, the Enco Q1 feels light and promises exceptional music playback with its 3D virtual surround sound.

The Oppo Reno 2, Reno 2F, and Enco Q1 will all go on sale from the 26th of October, available at all Oppo Concept Stores. The pricing for these devices are RM2,299, RM1,599, and RM599 respectively.
