After announcing the OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus also unveiled the non-pro variant of its latest flagship smartphone series. We take a look at how the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro differ from each other.
The easiest difference to spot is that the OnePlus 7 has a notch where the 16MP selfie camera is nested. That also means that there’s no motorized pop-up mechanism as per the Pro version. On the back, there’s only a dual-camera setup instead of having three cameras. The setup uses the same 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor but instead of a f/1.6 lens, the company used a f/1.7 lens instead. The secondary camera is a 5MP f/2.4 camera, removing the ultra-wide angle camera altogether.
By having a notch on the front, the display is also relatively smaller with a lower resolution at 6.41-inch Full HD+ AMOLED. With a smaller body, the OnePlus 7 is also powered with a smaller 3,700mAh battery.
Apart from the differences mentioned above, the OnePlus 7 still retains some of the great features found in the Pro variant. It still uses the Snapdragon 855 processor, large amount of RAM options, UFS3.0-based internal storage, and the fast in-screen fingerprint sensor.
When it comes to pricing, the OnePlus 7 will come in 2 options:
6GB RAM + 128GB storage: INR32,999 (approx. RM1960)
8GB RAM + 256GB storage: INR37,999 (approx. RM2255)
Stay tuned for the pricing and availability of the OnePlus 7 series at the company’s official launch event of the OnePlus 7 series on the 21st May.
