“Hey Siri, Unlace My Nike Adapt Huaraches”

Nike has announced the new Nike Adapt Huaraches, a modern redesign of the company’s Huarache silhouette which incorporates a self-lacing motor that can be controlled via Siri. Just say “Siri, release my shoes” on their iPhone or Apple Watch, and the shoe will automatically be unlaced.

Nike’s Adapt Huaraches has the same neoprene body as well as supportive exoskeleton as the original Huaraches launched back in 1991. However, this new iteration has two LED lights which colours can be changed via the app. The Nike Adapt app offers preset modes that can be set to different colors and change fits depending on your foot type as well as activity. There’s always a different setting for if you’re resting in the office, or on the move during a commute.

Nike has mentioned that users can set Siri shortcuts for the most used feature of their shoe. There’s not a lot of things you could do with a pair of shoe. It would be nice if users could say “Siri, wear my shoe.” and the shoe just automatically travels to your feet, waiting to be put on. Jokes aside, I guess users could use Siri to change the LEDs to the colour of their liking.

Nike will be launching the Adapt Huaraches on the 13th of September through the company’s SNKRS app as well as select retailers. Price of the shoe hasn’t been revealed, but looking at how the Adapt BB sneakers were priced at $350, the Adapt Huarache might be priced around that range. That being said, the Adapt BBs did face some troubles as a bad Android update faced pairing issues, causing users unable to wear or tighten their sneaker.

Would you rock a pair of these Nike Adapt Huaraches?
