Netflix has announced a new plan that’s targeted specifically at mobile users in Malaysia. While being launched in 2019, the company has mentioned that the plan has been in testing since November of 2018.
According to Netflix, Malaysia is the first country in Southeast Asia to receive this new plan that’s exclusive to mobile. Netflix has set the plan to be priced at RM17/month. The plan allows the user to have full access to Netflix contents through one phone or tablet at standard definition (540p max). This playback resolution applies to both streaming and downloaded contents.
Those who want to cast or mirror their Netflix app to other devices such as TV or projectors, unfortunately you won’t be able to do so. Apart from that, everything else is the same experience you’d get from the normal higher tier Netflix subscription.
Both new and existing subscribers will be able to subscribe to Netflix Mobile. To learn more about Netflix’s Mobile Plan, head on to their official website here.
