Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Black Shark just unveiled a newer model of the Black Shark 2 gaming phone. The announcement of the Black Shark 2 Pro made some heads turn as its predecessor was just launched April last year. However, Black Shark did not disappoint with the new upgrades.

What’s different about the Black Shark 2 Pro is its processor, the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus coupled with the UFS 3.0-based internal storage. The upgrade leveled up the gaming experience, giving better touch latency from 43.5ms to 34.7ms, although the refresh rate is still at 60Hz similar to the former model.

Most apparent change to the newest model is the back design, featuring two RGB lights. Aside from the aesthetics, it provides users with better grip through long game sessions. Among other upgrades is the slight bump-up on the secondary rear camera sensor from 12MP to 13MP. Otherwise, the Black Shark 2 Pro wears the same 6.39-inch AMOLED display andz a 4000mAh battery.

Xiaomi’s Black Shark 2 Pro has officially been released in China, but it is not known yet when international customers will be able to get their hands on one. The new model will be priced at CNY 2999 for the 12GB/128GB variant and CNY 3999 for 12GB/256GB variant.
